Biography
Hi my name's Alex McGery. You might remember me from such websites as www.myspace.com/almacg and www.alexmcgery.com. I'm a 20 year old music composer, who has been writing music suitable for media for about 3 years.

Having already written songs for the band I used to play in, I started experimenting with electronic/orchestral music. Soon I realised that orchestral composition was my true calling and I cannot see my life heading in any non-musical direction. Composition has become my raison-d'etre, I simply cannot exist without it.

My music has become increasingly classical/orchestral as I have improved my skills; However, if needed I can write in any style. My website www.alexmcgery.com has more examples of my work, and I will be shortly uploading some music to youtube.

I am always on the look out for people to work with, so if you need music I am the man you should get in touch with.

To date I have written music for: Rome Total Realism (www.romtotalrealism.com), The Awakening (http://awakening.hl2files.com /), 2 10 minute short films made by members of Buckinghamshire University, 2 training video/documentaries for Southwark council, and a premier of one of the videos.

Of course I have also written lots of other stuff simply for my own personal enjoyment.

At the moment I am working on a Mozart pastiche (suitably titled Eine Kleine Nacthmusik) to submit to a local youth orchestra. Should they decide to perform it, it will be my first piece played by actual musicians, rather than my computer!

This year I studied Music at Sussex University. To my dissapointment, the course was not what I had hoped for. With luck I will be attending the Royal Academy of Music/Guildhall/Royal College of Music starting in 2009!
