Don't be fooled by the cute appearance of Moscow-born violinist
Alexandra Soumm. This diva in the making may still be a student,
but her performances are already earning her a fearsome reputation.
'She has a stunning mastery of line and breadth of expression
[...] proof that there is much more to her talent than technical
wizardry,' reported one critic recently.
Soumm divides her time between Austria and France, and in 2004 she
won first prize in the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians,
followed by the Herbert von Karajan Scholarship in 2006.
They say appearances can be deceptive, and this Russian doll is no
exception.
