The young artist and musician made a name for herself DJing at
fashionable London club night Kashpoint, but she is also a singer
and multi-instrumentalist. Her music combines traditional Asian
instrumentation with folk, electronic beats and strong melodies.
Bishi's collaboration with the LSO Strings is part of
Eclectica, the latest series in the London Symphony Orchestra's
UBS Soundscapes programme. The series celebrates the world's
most diverse music, bringing together artists from vastly different
styles and disciplines to offer audiences a unique sonic
experience.
Ann Drew, head of sponsorship at UBS, said: 'The LSO is
innovative - the whole organisation pushes boundaries and does
exciting things, and that's important for us because we do that
in our business too. We share the same values and we are proud to
be creating extraordinary music together.'
The St Luke's concert coincides with the launch of a new
tango-inspired version of Bishi's single On My Own Again on 7
July.
Tickets are available now on 020 7638 8891 or from www.lso.co.uk.
