Latin passion informs not only Elena Riu's vision and visage
but also her heritage. Born in Venezuela of Spanish and Italian
parentage, the glamorous London-based pianist is a leading exponent
of the Iberian piano repertoire.
She has championed the music of composers such as Momou around the
world. One of her CD releases even featured the music of
18th-century monk Antonio Soler.
Her eclectic programming has included collaborations with the
Brodsky Quartet and choreographer Javier de Frutos. She has also
produced several multimedia events for children for the Southbank
Centre, and was the artistic director of the venue's sell-out
Spanish Plus series and New Iberia Festival.
