Heartswooning Hahn made such an impression on Sony Classical that
in 1996 the label signed her to an exclusive contract, making her
one of the youngest exclusive artists in Sony's century-long
history.
Her debut recording of Bach's solo partitas and sonatas won the
Diapason d'Or for Young Talent and was a best-seller in the
American Billboard charts. No surprise that Deutsche Grammophon was
thrilled to poach her.
A child prodigy, Hahn attended Philadelphia's Curtis Institute
of Music in 1990 at the age of 10, making her orchestral debut with
the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra the following year.
With devastating doe eyes and Medusa hair, Hilary is as beautiful
to look at as she is to listen to - which makes going to see her in
concert even more satisfying than listening to her on CD.
