Heavenly harpist Julia Thornton propels sleepy Suffolk up the
talent tables with her sultry good looks and nifty fingerwork.
A graduate of the Royal College of Music and former London
Philharmonic Orchestra player, Ipswich-born Thornton wowed
audiences when she accompanied Bryan Ferry as percussionist on the
Roxy Music Reunion Tour in 2001.
Since then her career has gone off the scale and her debut album,
Harpistry, drew on influences from Beethoven to the modern
chanson, expanding the harp's horizons and truly setting the
radiant red-head's position on the classical music scene.
