This luscious Greek tenor has established a firm following thanks
to his matinee-idol looks and starring roles in musicals.
Childhood violin and composition lessons led him to London's
Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he studied acting. It
was at Guildhall that he discovered the operatic side of his tenor
voice, lifting the coveted Maria Callas Prize.
He went on to study at New York's Juilliard School on a
scholarship and won the support of operatic legends Marilyn Horne
and Alfredo Kraus, becoming the only private student the late Kraus
ever accepted.
Frangoulis' career and life reflect our multimedia age: he has
appeared in films and on television, in musicals, concerts and in
epic presentations of Greek tragedies.
In addition to all this, he's a keen watersports fan - so if
you want to catch sight of him in his trunks, head for Athens.
