Pianist Rowe scoops EPTA prize

The 19-year-old gave a subsequent recital at last month's
EPTA UK annual conference at Liverpool's Hope University and
performed in the conference masterclass. The prize also includes a
concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields in 2009.
'I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the EPTA competition,'
said Rowe. 'It was lovely to be able to perform the final round
in the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building at St Hilda's
College in Oxford and I feel privileged to have been chosen as the
national winner. It really was a special opportunity and I've
been offered some wonderful recital opportunities as a result.'
Earlier this year the pianist also won the RNCM's first year
piano prize and a cello-piano duo prize. She previously studied at
Chetham's School of Music and the Junior Royal Academy.
