Moss as Monsieur Triquet in Eugene Onegin at the RNCM

YOUNG TENOR MATTHEW MOSS, A STUDENT AT MANCHESTER’S ROYAL NORTHERN COLLEGE OF MUSIC (RNCM), HAS BEEN AWARDED THE FIRST YAMAHA VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP.

The scholarship will offer 23-year-old Moss, who recently completed a BMus at the conservatoire and is now on the postgraduate performance course, both financial support and performance opportunities - including a recital with the Yamaha Piano Scholar.

'I feel honoured and delighted at being the Yamaha Vocal Scholar,' said Preston-born Moss. 'This scholarship will enable me to continue my development at the Royal Northern College of Music and the hope to achieve greater things in my career.'

Moss has taken roles in a variety of operas at the conservatoire including Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and Ravel's L'Heure Espagnole. He has also performed professionally at the Yorke Trust, Buxton Festival and Phoenix Opera.
