Sarah-Jane Brandon sings for joy at MBF Vocal Awards

Royal College of Music student Sarah-Jane Brandon bagged the
Maggie Teyte Prize of £2,000 along with a Miriam Licette
Scholarship of £3,000 at the awards, which celebrate the work
of young female singers, with particular emphasis on the
interpretation of French Melodie.
Brandon, 23 and from Cape Town, will follow her victory with a
performance at the Maggie Teyte Prize winner's recital on 2
June in the Crush Room of the Royal Opera House.
Three additional Miriam Licette Scholarships of £1,500 were
awarded to Caroline MacPhie, Ruby Hughes and Kristin Sharpin, with
the MBF Accompanist's Prize of £1,000 going to James
Southall.
