The disc, which also features British conductor Bramwell Tovey
and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, was named Classical Album of
the Year (Large Ensemble or Soloist with Large Ensemble) at this
year's Canadian awards ceremony.
It also scooped a Grammy Award and a Western Canadian Music Award
earlier this year.
The 32-year-old Juilliard graduate won his first Juno Award in 2001
and in 2002 was named Young Artist of the Year at the Cannes
Classical Awards.
His recording output has been prolific, with a catalogue of well
over 20 discs on labels including Chandos, Telarc and Sony
Classical. Highlights include his 250th anniversary double-disc of
Mozart's complete works for violin and orchestra, which won
last year's Juno Award.
The latest Juno-winning recording is available in North America on
CBC Records and worldwide on the Onyx Classics label.
