Munich-born violinist Viviane Hagner made her international
debut at the age of 12 and has appeared with some of the
world's greatest orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic,
Staatskapelle Berlin, Czech Philharmonic, Bavarian State Orchestra
and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Her recording debut came when she teamed up with her sister and duo
partner Nicole Hagner for a CD on EMI Classics' Debut series.
This, her first solo violin recording, features works by
Bartók, Hartmann and Bach, and was released on the Altara
label in early 2007.
Hagner is an ardent advocate of new, neglected and undiscovered
music. Composers whose work she champions include Karl Amadeus
Hartmann, Karl Goldmark and Krzysztof Penderecki, and in 2002 she
gave the world premiere of Unsuk Chin's Violin Concerto with
the Deutsche Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and Kent Nagano.
She has also worked with conductors including Claudio Abbado,
Vladimir Ashkenazy and Daniel Barenboim. Career highlights so far
include performances of the Brahms Double Concerto with Yo-Yo Ma
and the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante with Pinchas Zukerman.
